Magnolia-licious Chrismas All Year Long Blog Hop

Welcome the November Christmas all year long blog hop,                      (Pour la version française,
                                                                                                veuillez dérouler l'écran)
First of all, let me wish you all Happy Thanksgiving!
Well Folks, this is it: the last 25th before the real one! I'm not counting the days, I'm just afraid there is not enough so that I can make it...If you came from the talented NADYNE you are on the right track. If not, you can start the hop from the beginning HERE.

On to my card now. I was attracted by this wonderful paper from Basic Grey Jovial collection unusual black background. Black is certainly not in the Christmas color palette. Being a tiny bit unconventional, I decided to give black it's "lettre de noblesse" and be admitted among the reds, green, gold and silver. We've seen lots of blue lately, well could black be considered Jovial? You will let me know...
I chose Silent Night Tilda for this adventure! She has always been quite a challenge to color for me, and this time, was not different. Red is not easy to blend, and I'm quite happy with the results althought I would have prefered a different shade of red and was not able to get it with my copics ( more practice I guess), I made the fur with Fun flock, on which I added Frosted Lace Stickles. On the ribbon, I added some Liquid pear, to create a satin look... I created the background behind Tilda with Distress Inks, in shades of Tea Dye, Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain. The embossed swirls are from Stampin Up set Une Joyeuse saison, I used chocolate chip ink with clear embossing powder. The nice pointsettia is a gift from a dear friend. I cut the tag with Spellbinders Fancy Tag. The leaves, ribbons, and pearl branches are from my stash. The inside is very simple, I used a rub on transfer, and the same swirl stamp, along with the greeting from Stampin Up Nombreux Joyeux Messages.
Hope my little creation will help get black introduced as acceptable Christmas color, and will have you dare try including black in your future cards!
Thank you for stopping by, you are now on
your way to admire the creation of the very talented

Je me demande si j,arriverai à temps...

  1. I submitted my card to 7 Kids College Fund Challenge ( Non traditional Christmas Colors) -- Hope Black and Red is acceptable.

Black may not be part of the traditional color code but you certainly made it look exquisitely festive here! I've see lots of dp's with black in them and they were for Christmas. This is just darling! Love the way you did your sentiment, wrapped into the ribbon and Tilda looks gorgeous. Your flowers are wonderful and the inside is just as beautifully detailed as the outside.
