The more you love your decisions... an art journal journey

Happy Friday,
OH! would I have a looooooooong and HAPPY story to tell about this last Wednesday, June 11! Day on which I joined an art journaling club class at Scrapbook Centrale given by the fantastic Gisele Cabral,  such a fabulous teacher, so very passionate about mixed media. In that particular class, we explored panpastels, medium with witch I fell in love on the spot. The recipe was not to draw, but work in colors and spots. Gisele guided us through the process, with such a delicate attention, spreading on each of us some kind of magical inspiration dust! Truly, she is quite an amazing teacher, I enjoyed each and every minute of this class.  I put the end touch to my page last night and I am very happy of the result, although impressed by the intensity of the whole page.
Bon vendredi!

Another surprise was waiting for me! I had the pleasure of meeting Catherine from Creation CeeCee, well it was more than just a pleasure, it was pure happiness! We had tea together, and the conversation was just a flow, as if we had known each other forever, and simply took over where we had left ! I tease CeeCee often, I tell her she is responsible for convincing me to resume my journey in mixed media; however, I will FOREVER be grateful to her for saying things that I needed to hear precisely at this time in my life. On to my page.

I was inspired by a Dona Downey painting, and image of a canvas fromPinterest. The lovely uneven background is the result of a mistake! I was applying Acrylic ground medium for pastel on my page, when the 2 pages simply stuck together,  taking them apart delicately is what created the wave like texture! I looooooooooove it! I used mainly panpastels that were provided at the class, to give the finishing touch, I used Prismacolor Nupastel, that are much harder, but will blend nicely with panpastels. I used big brush pen for the black line around the flowers. I also discovered a fabulous Pastel fixative, called "Spectra Fix" which is odor free and can be used inside, muchmore pleasant to use than the Krylon. I dared droplets of china ink! I am usually working on very small pages, well this is a big journal, 11 13/16 X 8 1/2, this was quite an adventure for me!

I have a card on my working table, and a sketch for another page... Just hope that Time will be on my side! For those of you who wonder, Baby Gabriel has yet to make his official entrance in this beautiful world!

The quote is so inspiring that I've recorded it in my quotes journal. It says it all, doesn't it?!
So glad to have you connected with Gisele and so glad to have met you.
Namaste!
