Just for fun Challenge No. 3 - coloring in sepia

Bon vendredi!

Notre défi Just for fun exigeait que l'on colore en sépia! j,ai voulu expérimenter avec la gamme des E70+71+74+77+79! alors j,ai triché un peu! Le sépia est une teinte de brun, qui contient généralement du jaune, alors voilà mon sépia tire sur le cacao rosé! mais bon, voilà, j`'ai une excuse valable! Je devais créer une carte spécifiquement pour une occasion particulière, dédiée à une femme; et je n,avais aucun papier de la vraie couleur sépia! C'est aussi ma première expérience monochromatique dans ces teintes avec les Copics!  Assez de blabla... voici ma  participation à ce défi.

Our Just for Fun challenge this forthnight requested that we use Sepia color/coloring. I cheated a bit, by using the E-70-71-74-77-79 Copic Series, because I had no paper matching the real Sepia tone, which is usually a yellowish brown. So.... my sepia is somewhat cocoa-pinkish in tone LOL. I needed to create a totally feminine card for a very specific occasion, and would not have had time to do both, so I decided to give up on the "tone"! It is also my very fist monochromatic experiences with these shades of Copics, and of course, my E-70 decided to act up on me. the point kept on becoming so wet, that it constantly dripped; and no, I did not refill it, it is a marker I do not use often... so go find why? enough blabla... this is my creation!

Pour l'intérieur, j'ai choisi une découpe de la cassette Lacy Labels de Cricut et un joli coin de Joy Craft. J,ai embossé  plusieurs en couches de poudre clair et de poudre Polysparkle.

For the inside, I used a lovely lable from the lacy Labels cartridge by Cricut, and a die cut corner by Joy craft, which I embossed several times with clear and Polysparkle poweder.

Il allait de soi que j,allais offrir cette carte avec sa boitatou. J,ai collé la découpe et le nom sur un acétate afin de donner l'aspect d'une fenêtre. 

I could not offer the card without it's boitatou! It might be difficult to see, but I glued the name and die cut on an acetate to give a dimension and clear view on the music sheet.

tilda blowing heart - petite boite

Happy Monday dear blogger friends,

This morning I would like to share with you a little box I have created for someone special from over the sea! I colored Tilda Blowing Heart from the Love collection 2013 with my copics ; I kept the image very simple, it is slipped under a little piece of acetate to create the frame effect. I used the pretty Valetta Garden papers from Wild Rose Studio, to cover the box, and applied a few coats of Mod Podge to protect and give a glossy shine.

Ce matin je partage avec vous une  boîte crée tout  pour une personne bien spéciale. J'ai colorié Tilda Blowing Heart de la toute dernière collection de Magnolia, Love 2013 avec mes copics. L'image se glisse derrière un acétate à l'intérieur du couvercle pour donner l'effet d'un cadre. Les papiers utilisés pour couvrir la boîte sont de Wild Rose Studio, collection Valetta Garden. J'ai appliqué plusieurs couches de Mod Podge pour protéger et donner un fini luisant.

When opened, the cover of the box stands as an easel. You can keep little notes or even pictures inside.

Le couvercle de la boîte s'ouvre tel un chevalet. À l'intérieur , on peut y garder des petites notes ou des photos.

 I had slipped a few goodies inside the little box, I made a pink  heart stickpin  and a butterfly key chain.  

J,avais glissé quelques surprises à l'intérieur de la boîte, dont une épinglette rose avec un coeur et un porte clef papillon.

The Craft Barn ALPHA Challenge - Letter V

                           

Hello Dear blogging friends!

I am late this afternoon publishing my latest venture! After visiting Chris Dark's blog last week, and reading about her joining the Craft Barn Alpha challenge starting earlier this month, I went searching for a dictionary and decided to embark upon this journey of mix media discovery! I found a little french-english Robert-Collins dictionary, a very different size I am used to work with. And read  the V section in english! I was instantly inspired by the word Valentine! I would certainly be out of my comfort zone, but I would bring a friend along, Tilda, and would not feel too lost!

Merci de votre visite! je partage avec vous aujourd'hui ma première expérience de mix-média! C'est une visite au blogue de Chris Dark qui m'a incitée à participer au Craft Barn Alpha Challenge. Je trouvais la formule vraiment amusante. Je me suis trouvée un vieux dictionnaire français-anglais, un format avec lequel je ne suis pas dutout habituée de travailler et je ne suis pas allée très loin, le mot "valentine" a tout de suite attirée mon attention, et je me suis mise à la tâche. Le mix-media me sort vraiment de ma zone de confort, moi la perfectionniste! mais j'ai amenée avec moi une amie pour ne pas me sentir trop dépaysée: Tilda...

Working on such poor quality paper is an adventure in itself, cause everything can happen! I used gesso on my pages, then used distress inks, stamped my images and dare using Crackle paint to give an antique look. Well... what do you know, gesso did not like crackle paint, I was loosing pieces! I gave a chance to Triple Thick glaze to settle everything, and it worked, but the paper became fragile! Well, next time I will know what to do! You will recognize Tilda with dot bow, and Bonny Tilda from the Love collection, colored with copics;  the other stamps used are from different collection of Tim Holtz, Stamper's anonymous. the lovely die cuts are from Make it Crafty.

Travailler sur un papier non conçu à cet effet est en soi une aventure! J'ai étendu une couche de gesso sur mes pages,  encrer avec des Distress, étamper mes images à l'encre noir, puis j'ai osé une couche de Crackle paint... bien elle et le gesso ne s'aiment pas beaucoup! La craquelure était parfaite, mais  s'écallait, alors pour m'assurer de ne pas tout perdre, j'ai recouvert mes pages d,un glacis brillant. C'est alors que mon papier est devenu très fragile! Vous reconnaîtrez Tilda with dot bow, et Bonny Tilda de la dernière collection Magnolia Love 2013, mes images sont coloriées aux copics; les autres étampes sont de Tim Holtz, Stamper,s Anonymous et les découpes de Make it Crafty.

The cute little Bonny tilda, I enjoyed coloring nude skin, and chubby behind! it is also possible to see the crackled background, the cute film strip and the heart die cut.

La mignonne Bonny Tilda en gros plan, j'ai adoré colorier un nu, surtout les petites fesses toutes dodues! il est possible de voir la bande de film, les craquelures, et la découpe en coeur.
