A walk down memory lane... Souvenirs de jeunesse - Craft Barn Challenge Week 14, Letter Y

Happy Monday!
Montreal is under a heat wave these days! a good excuse for staying in my craft room. I visited my friends Cathy-Lynn's blog, to comment on her latest creation, her take on the Craft Barn Alpha Challenge! I was suddenly inspired by letter "Y"... Probably a result of my newest activity: being tourist in Montreal! Saturday I visited Pointe à Callières Museum, featuring an exposition on the Beatles. Cathy's Yippee girl lead me to Hippie, that took me directly to my teen years, which were filled with music; one song I particularily loved, was YESTERDAY, RELEASED IN 1965, I was 12... this my take on the Challenge. No further bla bla, here is my mixed media creation in which I tried to give a yesterday look to my background!

Bon Lundi,

After covering my pages with gesso, I played with a stencil and some molding paste, to give dimention to my background. then,  I simply rubbed some dry pastel, and spread them with my fingers. To darken the corners I used a bit of  Inka gold.

thank you for your visit!  I do love reading you very much!

So much fun Danielle! Your artwork is always gorgeous and makes your record one of a kind. Good Lord child, When you were 12, I was married with a new baby! We have been out of town and guess what - another broken hip for me. Last summer was the left hip and now this summer it the right hip. So I will not be crafting as I cannot go up and down the stairs. But I will be content watching you and so many others with wonderful works of art!!
