Happy Friday,
OMG... March has come and is almost over... Winter doesn't want to let go! It's cold here in Montreal. It helps me no feeling too guilty to show my project this morning! It is our 24th Inventory Challenge, Christina & I suggested the use of complementary colors, which is perfect to accommodate my Chrismas card .If you follow Magnolia licious Christmas Blog hop and came from Corinne you are on the right track.
Bon Vendedi,
I am happy to welcome you on my blog. For my card, I was inspired by Snow Hug, this wonderful stamp with Tilda and Snowy which I stamped on Arches watercolor paper, and colored with Distress inks. I used LIquid Applique for the snow, which I covered with Stickles. It seems I will never learn my lesson: Stickles "drink" the color pigments of inks. So... I found myself with a tinted snow! I used the Winter NIght Background from the Winter 2008 collection, that I stamped each side of Tilda and Snowy, I used the Eclipse making tape to make a mask for my image( Wow, this tape is fantastic). I wanted to give the effect of a moonlight brilliance, so I mixed some Liquid pearl with water, and just spread it over the snowy parts of the scene.
My sentiment is from Nombreux Joyeux Mesages from aSampin up set that stamped twice in Real Red and in Always Artichoke. The tag is cut with a spellbinder, the swirl is from Magnolia, both in AC Cartdstock glittery collection. The beautiful Christmas paper is from the Jovial Paper pad from Basic Grey, a gift from my dear friend Christina. (Thank you so much Hon.) The bow and the green ribbon are from my stash.
I decorated the inside with all the cuts I did not use. The red cardstock is from SU, the glittery corners from a Cuttlebug die, the cute charm from my stash, along with the ribbon.
I found that stamping the sentiment on a watercolor paper gives such a rich detail to the card, I used Always artichoke, distressed the edges and inked them. I also added little stones.
Merci d'être venu me visiter.
