Autant en emporte le vent.... Gone with the wind.

Bon après-midi à vous toutes,                                   (Please scroll down, for english version)

Good Thurday to you all,
I have not been posting as regularly as I was. Life has been hectic! I do feel like my Tida today: under the weather. So, I decided to act like Scarlet O'Hara, for those who have read the book, when things got rough, she would just say: I'll think about it tomorrow... I've been doing this for the last few days! However, I am living something really fun with  2 furry friends... I babysit my son's girlfriend's dogs for the week, a pug and a Boston terrier. What a team they make! I walk them or they walk me 3 times a day, with the cold weather installing itself gradually, I have taken my gloves, my scarf and my hat out!
Enough blabla,  about my card! This Tilda in Windy weather, that you can get at Diana, is a challenge to color. I admit starting over about 3 times, I did not like how the shading in her dress came out. And I was inspired by the wonderful sketch by Lisa for the 5th Challenge of 7-Kids, however, it took me so long, that the challenge is now over!  Since I was under the Gone with the wind theme, I insisted in coloring her dress green, unfortunately, my collection of green shades in Copic is not extended, and I used what I had. I distressed the background with Distress ink, Peeled paint shade. The background of the card itself is a piece of thick acetate that I colored with Alcohol ink. I hope you will like  and it will give the inspiration to try this technique. Another important detail about this card, with my friend Christina, we made a pact! We both want to use stuff from our actual inventory before we let ourselves be tempted by all the new items coming out. Boy Oh! Boy, what a difficult challenge. for this first card, Christina suggested we used two ribbons... Her idea arrived on time, as I was not able to figure out something nice to contrast on the acetate. I rummage through my ribbons and found this big grosgrain ribbon in perfect shade of brown and dared blend it with a delicate silk picot in yellowish shade. I invite you to visit her, on her blog, she creates little beauties, Christina has a style of her own, precious, rich and delicate. In my heart, she is associated with lace and flowers, which are also her favorite adorments on her cards, that  I called her signature. thank you for visiting me today, and taking time to drop me a line or two. I love reading you.

Danielle, gorgeous card. I like this Tilda—she looks like she would be fun to colour. I’m still waiting for mine to arrive. Beautifully coloured-3rd time must the magic number…LOL. Love your ribbons with the loop edges. I have a MS edge punch that would be perfect to go with the ribbons—it punches similar loops. I will have to give your alcohol ink on acetate technique a try. I like creating my own background paper as sometimes you can’t find any DP with the correct shades of colours.

Hugs.
